ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Attn: Sophomores:  It's time to order your class ring! Orders will be taken on Wednesday, March 24th during lunches in the cafeteria. A $50 deposit is requested when placing your order.  Design your custom ring on-line at Jostens.com or pick up a ring packet in the Main Office.

The Environmental Club is gearing up to celebrate Earth Hour and Earth Day – we need your help to make posters and promote ideas for keeping our earth healthy.  The next meeting is today in room 401.  New members always welcome.

Attention students interested in Health Careers:  A Health Career Advisor from CT Community Colleges will be giving a short presentation and question/answer session during all lunch waves on Wednesday, March 31st in the cafeteria annex.  Sheila Taridona will be discussing varying programs available through Connecticut Community Colleges including medical assistant, nuclear med tech, occupational and physical therapists, and more.  Please sign up on Naviance or see Miss Cunningham in the counseling department.

Attention BOWLERS:  Do you want to bowl and raise money for a good cause at the same time?  Then sign up to participate in FBLA's Bowl-a-thon for the March of Dimes.  The Bowl-a-thon will take place Tuesday, March 23 from 3 – 5:30 at Holiday Bowl in Groton.  See Mrs. Burdick in Room 109 for a Pledge Form.  Deadline for signing up is March 17.

The winter sports award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 7 PM. All winter athletes and parents/guardians are encourage to attend.

All prospective softball players need to see Mr. Alves ASAP to pick up important paperwork for the upcoming season.

Driver's Education starts on April 6th. Classes will meet on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Signup sheet and applications are available in the Main Office.

All prospective baseball players should stop by Room 211 to pick up an informational packet regarding the upcoming season.

See Mrs. Brooks (room 312) or Mrs. Clifford (room 408) to find out your balance due.
An additional charge of $30 will be required from those students who Still have not paid for the Entertainment Book!
Checks can be made to MHS. Please include student's name and "senior dues" on the memo line.

FAILURE TO PAY YOUR DUES WILL RESULT IN YOUR EXCLUSION FROM THE SENIOR OUTING!

ALSO - PLEASE return the slip attached to the flyer to sign-up for your FREE MHS Alumni T-shirt. If you don't return the slip we won't have a proper count of sizes to order you a t-shirt!!

The YES Club will be meeting today after school in room 310.  All new members are encouraged to attend.The GSA will meet today in the School Counseling Office.  As a reminder to all GSA members:  True Colors Conference permission forms and conference fees are due January 15th.

 

The Class of 2011 is hosting a pancake breakfast at Applebee's in Groton on Saturday, January 9 from 8 - 10 a.m.  Tickets are just $5.00 and proceeds will benefit the class of 2011.  Please see Mr. Zyrlis in Room 111 for tickets.

 

The entire Sophomore class will be meeting in the auditorium for Advisory on February 24th.  All Sophomores and advisors should report directly to the auditorium at 9:00 on Wednesday.

 

Attention PIZZA LOVERS: The Class of 2012 is sponsoring a fundraiser at the Norwich Papa Gino's on Wednesday, February 24th.  Just pick up a flyer in the office and show up between 5 – 9 pm on February 24th.  The sophomore class will receive a portion of the sales for the night.  You need to have the flyer for the class to get the credit.

There will be a short  freshman class council meeting today after school.

All French Honor Society members need to meet in Room 804 for the yearbook picture immediately after school today.

The International Club will be holding a meeting on Wed, March 17th in the Library!  Come ready to talk about participation in Living Books. New members welcome.
