2011-2012 Athletic Booster Club Scholarship

Deadline: March 24, 2012

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1.         Graduating Montville High School Senior in good standing

2.         Must have participated in at least one sport for each year enrolled at MHS

3.         Will be entering (enrolled) in a College, Vocational or Trade School in the Fall following HS Graduation

GENERAL INFORMATION

We will not be grading the essay; grade point average is not a requirement nor is financial need.

We are looking for an essay that tells us that your heart and your soul are in athletics. The essay should include how you have personally grown by participating in sports and what effect sports have had on you beyond the field/court/mat.

This will be a blind review and will be judged strictly on the content of the essay. A panel of five, which will include the Athletic Booster Board members and two Coaches, will review all essays submitted and rank each essay by merit.  If there is a tie, the President will cast the deciding vote.

One male and one female athlete will be chosen to receive a scholarship.

The Committee will announce the winners at the MHS Senior Awards Night.

The award in the amount of $1,000.00 will be paid directly to each recipient on Awards Night.
