Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we work to create bus routes for the 2026-2027 school year, it is essential to have information from you regarding your child’s transportation needs. Everyone’s bus stops return to their home address every summer and I need to manually change the addresses for alternate locations. Would you please complete the mandatory survey below no later than July 10th? Please complete a new survey for each of your children.
If it is possible for you to provide transportation for your child to and from school, this will help us address the shortage in licensed bus drivers. Your child’s school will inform you of the protocols for safe and efficient drop-off and pick-up by parents. If at any time during the school year, you need to resume bus transportation, we ask that you provide us with one week’s notice to place your child on a route.

Important information regarding bus services for the 2026 - 2027 school year:
According to state statute and Board policy, we provide transportation to Montville residents who live more than one mile from their school. For the safety of all of our children, we can only accommodate one alternative morning and afternoon stop each week for childcare reasons. This alternative stop must be consistent every week (i.e., every Tues. and Thurs. morning). We cannot accommodate different stop locations on different weeks (i.e., every third Tuesday). Unless there is an emergency, students will not be allowed to take different buses home other than those established for childcare purposes.
By policy, kindergarten, first and second grade students are required to have an adult at the bus stop at both pick-up and drop-off times unless a parent requests otherwise in writing. When there is no adult present at drop-off, the child will be returned to their school. It is suggested that an adult be present for all young children.
