World Language
Victoria Galarza-Clifford, Department Chair
Teachers:
The World Language Department at Montville High School believes in adhering to the National Standards according to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). The department seeks to help students develop in the five different areas of: Communication, Culture, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities. All students will be able to demonstrate the applicable skills of their target language through reading, writing, listening, speaking, culture, decoding, and translating.
"Language and communication are at the heart of the human experience. The United States must educate students who are linguistically and culturally equipped to communicate successfully in a pluralistic American society and abroad. This imperative envisions a future in which ALL students will develop and maintain proficiency in English and at least one other language."- (ACTFL)
